Microchipping

A microchip may be the most important gift you ever give your pet.

Microchipping provides the peace of mind that you’ve given your pet the permanent, lifetime ID he needs for the best chance to come home.

Dog and cat microchipping is a simple procedure. A veterinarian simply injects a microchip for pets, about the size of a grain of rice (12mm), beneath the surface of your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination. No anesthetic is required.

If your pet is found and taken to an animal shelter or clinic, the staff will scan the microchip to read its unique ID code. The staff will then call the appropriate registry with you pet’s identified ID code. As soon as your contact information is retrieved, you will be contacted and arrangements will be made to reunite you with your pet.

At Stoney Pointe, we support the use of this technology and offer this service to help recover lost pets. For the low cost of only $55.00, you get the microchip, implantation, and we will register your pet. Contact us today to inquire about microchipping your pet.
